Table-top high-brightness ultrashort light sources tuneable across the deep and vacuum ultraviolet

Abstract
I will present a novel generation of light sources based on gas-filled stretched hollow-fibers providing: ultrashort coherent light pulses tuneable across the deep and vacuum UV (110-500 nm) with high peak-brightness, optical sub-femtosecond pulses in different spectral regions [1]. The future development of these light sources towards high-average and high-peak powers, the rich nonlinear optics and physical “playground” involved [1,2], together with current and future applications will be presented, with a special focus on advanced time-resolved spectroscopies [3,4].
